Scholarship description:

Essay contest open to all high school students, grades 9-12. Students in U.S. territories and U.S. citizens attending schools overseas may also apply. Essay must be original work; attach bibliography. Essay must be no longer than 1,000 words. All essays will be judged on the overall originality of topic and the clear communication of ideas through language. Essayist must have an English or History teacher as nominating teacher. Winner and their nominating teacher are invited to Kennedy Library to accept award. Winner receives $3000, nomination teacher receives grant of $500; second place receives $1000 and five finalists receive $500.
